やっぱり、
コーヒーって最高。Coffee really is the best!
こんにちは。LiLo Ambassador Roomの管理人、ルダイです。
コーヒー好きが毎年楽しみにしている、スペシャルティコーヒーの祭典「SCAJ World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition 2026」。
世界中のスペシャルティコーヒーや業界のプロが集まる国内最大級の展示会です。
LiLo Coffee Roastersの出展はありませんが、ヘッドロースターのケイタさんがコロンビア専門のインポーター「DA VIDA Japan」のブースにゲストブリュワーとして参加してきました。
ブースではコーヒーを抽出し、その合間には、普段お世話になっているインポーターの方々のもとへ。
どんな一日になったのか、聞いてみました。

おかえりなさい、お疲れ様でした！DA VIDAさんのブースでは、どんなコーヒーを淹れたんですか？
ケイタ
今回はDA VIDAさんから生豆を買い付けたコロンビア フィンカ ミランのコーヒーを選びました。短い時間でもLiLoが大事にしているおいしさを伝えたいから、一口でWOW！と感じられるインパクトのあるものを。
結果、めっちゃ好評でした！コーヒーを飲んだ後一回別のブースに行ったのに、また豆を買いに戻ってきてくださった方もいて。

おお〜！それは嬉しいですね！何か印象に残ったことはありました？
ケイタ
そうやねぇ、普段はなかなかLiLoまで来られない関東のお客さんが、たくさん会いに来てくれたことかな。一年ぶりに会う方もいたし、コロナの時期に毎日配信していたインスタライブをずっと見てくださっていた方もいて。そのときのことを、今でも直接伝えてくれるんです。

5、6年も前のことですよね。あのときの配信が、今でも繋がっているってすごいですね。
ケイタ
「いつもオンラインで買ってます」「あの時期のインスタライブには本当に元気をもらいました」と、いろんな言葉をかけていただいたな。こういう機会に会いに来てくれるのは、本当にありがたいです。
長い間会っていなくても、その人の日常にはずっとLiLoのコーヒーがあった。改めて多くの人たちとコーヒーでつながってるんやなって感じます。

本当ですね。距離は離れていても。
ケイタ
直接会うと、相手の温度を一気に受け取れる。いつも買っているコーヒーを焙煎している人に会えたことをすごく喜んでくださっているのが伝わってきたなぁ。そういう声や気持ちを直接感じられるのは、すごくありがたい時間でした。

ゲストブリュー以外では、インポーターさんのところも回られたんですよね。
ケイタ
出展されている取引先のインポーターさんには、ほとんどご挨拶できました。10社近くあったかな。
インポーターさんによって、得意な産地や特徴、大事にしていることがそれぞれ違うんです。リロでは幅広く豆を扱っているから、それぞれの分野でいろんなインポーターさんとお付き合いがあります。

なんといってもLiLoが毎年買い付ける生豆は50種類以上！すごい数です。LiLoのコーヒーの幅広いおいしさは、それぞれの得意分野を持つインポーターさんとの関係があってこそ成り立つんですよね。
ケイタ
そうなんよ。普段から取引があっても、やっぱり顔を合わせて情報を交換して、一緒に次を考えるタイミングは必要。
今回お話ししたインポーターさんとは、今後欲しい豆の方向性を話したり、次に取り扱う豆の候補を飲ませてもらったりもしました。

次のコーヒーも決まったんですか？
ケイタ
うん、エチオピアが一つ決まったよ。来月にはリリースできるかな！

今回の一日を通して、改めて感じたことはありますか？
ケイタ
日々努力しておいしいコーヒー、楽しいコーヒーを作っていくことはもちろん必要。だけどたまにこういう場所に行くと、リロを知ってくださっている方や、必要としてくださっている方がいることを、改めて感じます。
続けてきたことがちゃんと届いている。それを直接確かめられたのが、今回の収穫やったと思います。きてくれた皆さんからめっちゃ元気をもらいました。じゃあ次は何を届けよう、どう楽しんでもらおうって、また考えたくなる。コーヒーって、ほんま最高やね。

僕も1日だけSCAJを回ってきました。記憶に残ったのは、会場にいる多くの人たちの笑顔。
ケイタに会いに来てくださる方たちを見ていても、僕たちLiLo Coffee Roastersはこういう人たちに支えられているんだなと感じます。僕たちのコーヒーを喜んでくれたり、楽しみにしてくれたり、応援してくれる。その反応や行動一つひとつからエネルギーを受け取っています。また頑張ろうと思える力になるんです。
「From Seed to Cup」という言葉のとおり、コーヒーは生産地から飲む人のもとへ届きます。でも、エネルギーは逆方向にも届きます。飲んだときの楽しい気持ちやワクワクした表情は、バリスタやロースター、インポーター、そして生産者にまで元気を届けてくれる。楽しんでくれることが、何よりのエネルギーになるんです。会場にあった熱気も、そうしたエネルギーの行き来から生まれているんだと思います。
いつも僕たちに楽しさと元気をくれて、ありがとうございます。みなさんに支えられていることを、改めて感じた1日でした。

Hello! I’m Rudai, your host at LiLo Ambassador Room.
Every year, coffee lovers look forward to SCAJ World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition 2026, a celebration of specialty coffee.
One of Japan’s largest coffee trade shows, it brings together specialty coffees and industry professionals from around the world.
LiLo Coffee Roasters didn’t have its own booth this year, but our head roaster, Keita, took part as a guest brewer at the booth of DA VIDA Japan, an importer specializing in Colombian coffee.
Between brewing coffees at the booth, he also caught up with the importers we work with.
We asked him how the day went.

Welcome back! What coffee did you brew at the DA VIDA booth?
Keita
I chose a coffee from Finca Milan in Colombia, made with green beans we sourced through DA VIDA. I wanted people to experience the flavors LiLo cares about, even in the short time we had. So I went for something that would make you say “WOW!” from the very first sip.
And people loved it! Some tried the coffee, went off to visit other booths, then came all the way back to buy the beans.

Oh, that’s lovely! Did anything else stand out?
Keita
Yeah, lots of customers from the Tokyo area came to see me—people who don’t often get the chance to visit LiLo. Some I hadn’t seen in a year. Others had watched the Instagram livestreams we did every day during the pandemic. They still come up and tell me about those days.

That was five or six years ago, wasn’t it? It’s amazing that those livestreams are still connecting you today.
Keita
“I always order from your online shop.” “Your livestreams really kept my spirits up back then.” People said all kinds of things to me. I’m so grateful that they come to see us when there’s a chance like this.
Even when we haven’t seen each other for a long time, LiLo coffee has been there in their everyday lives. It reminded me how many people we’re connected to through coffee.

Absolutely. Even across the distance.
Keita
When you meet face to face, you feel that warmth straight away. I could really tell how happy people were to meet the person roasting the coffee they buy all the time. Getting to hear those words and feel that appreciation in person meant a lot to me.

Besides guest brewing, you also visited some importers, right?
Keita
I managed to say hello to almost all the importers we work with who were exhibiting. There must have been close to ten.
Each importer has different strengths, whether that’s a particular origin, a style of coffee, or the things they value. We offer a wide range of coffees at LiLo, so we work with importers with all kinds of expertise.

After all, LiLo buys more than 50 different green coffees every year! That’s quite a range. Those relationships with importers, each with their own expertise, are what make LiLo’s variety of flavors possible.
Keita
Exactly. Even when we work together regularly, it’s important to make time to meet face to face, share information, and think about what comes next.
With one of the importers I met this time, we talked about the kinds of coffees we’re looking for and tasted some candidates for our next release.

Have you already decided on a new coffee?
Keita
Yes! We picked an Ethiopian coffee. Hopefully we can release it next month!

That was quick! I can’t wait.

Looking back on the day, what stayed with you?
Keita
Of course, we need to keep working every day to make coffee that tastes great and brings people joy. But going to an event like this reminds me that there are people who know LiLo, and people for whom our coffee matters.
What we’ve kept doing has been reaching people. Being able to see that for myself was the biggest thing I took away from this trip. Everyone who came gave me so much energy. It makes me want to think again: what can we bring them next, and how can we make it enjoyable? Coffee really is the best.

I also spent a day at SCAJ. What stayed with me was all the smiling faces around the venue.
Watching people come to see Keita reminded me that LiLo Coffee Roasters is supported by people like them. They enjoy our coffee, look forward to it, and cheer us on. Every response, every gesture gives us energy. It’s what makes us want to keep doing our best.
Coffee travels from its origin to the people who drink it, just as the phrase “From Seed to Cup” suggests. But the joy of drinking it, that look of excitement, sends energy back to the baristas, roasters, importers, and even the producers. Seeing people enjoy coffee is the greatest source of energy. I think the buzz at SCAJ came from that energy going back and forth.
Thank you for always bringing us joy and energy. This day reminded me just how much your support means to us.
